Any one who witnessed the deadly incident is questioned to communicate with the troopers who are investigating.
BAKER Metropolis, Ore. — A Caldwell man died Monday evening following a pair of tires detached from a flatbed trailer and arrived smashing via his windshield on Interstate 84.
The fatal incident took place at 6:40 p.m. in eastern Oregon in close proximity to Huntington.
According to Oregon Condition Law enforcement, 38-calendar year-aged Hassan Ibrahim of Ohio was headed west in a Freightliner semi when a established of twin tires came off the trailer he was pulling.
The tires bounced across the heart concrete barrier into the eastbound lanes and “grew to become airborne to a wonderful peak,” law enforcement claimed. As tires fell back again down, they crashed by way of the windshield and into the cab of an eastbound semi truck.
The truck driver, discovered as 50-calendar year-aged James Green of Caldwell, was killed by the effect.
Law enforcement say Ibrahim stopped his truck, chained up the damaged axle, and held driving. Investigators have not produced no matter whether the driver understood that his loose tires had strike anyone. Troopers uncovered him a shorter time afterwards around Baker Metropolis.
Any person who witnessed the crash who has not previously spoken to OSP is urged to come forward. Police say they are particularly intrigued in speaking with a male driving a white professional car who witnesses say stopped and spoke to Ibrahim just after the tires detached.
Neither Ibrahim nor his passenger was hurt. No costs have been submitted in the situation.
The Baker County Sheriff’s Place of work, Huntington Hearth Rescue, and Oregon Section of Transportation all assisted OSP on the crash. Interstate 84 was shut down for six hrs as troopers investigated.
