Thankfully, no one particular was wounded in this crash.

SPRING, Texas — The Grand Parkway in close proximity to FM 2920 has reopened Sunday just after a huge rig crash led to a hazmat spill.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Business, a large rig was touring westbound on the freeway, in the 9300 block, when the driver fell asleep driving the wheel and struck a guardrail amongst FM 2920 and Winner Forest.

Just after hitting the guardrail, the large rig then struck a retention wire and crossed into oncoming visitors in the eastbound lanes.

Yet another driver noticed the big rig heading ideal to her and swerved to keep away from a collision.  She strike a retention wall, but luckily for us she was not injured. However, she was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI.

The big rig lastly came to a quit, but not right before spilling a quarter tank of diesel on the freeway, according to deputies.

The freeway was closed for about two several hours so a hazmat team could clean up up the spill.

Thankfully, there were no accidents documented.
