GLOUCESTER TWP. – A motorist was driving drunk — and with a flat tire — when he passed police at an accident scene, struck several automobiles and hit a residence here, authorities say.
The incident happened just after law enforcement responded to an unrelated bike incident around 10:45 p.m. Thursday on the ramp of northbound Route 42 at Sicklerville Road in Gloucester Township.
Crisis responders ended up dealing with the motorcyclist, who experienced suffered a critical head harm, when a pickup truck drove by with a flat front tire shortly just after midnight, according to Gloucester Township law enforcement.
“Before officers could catch up to the vehicle, it rear-ended yet another automobile on Sicklerville Street,” claimed a law enforcement account.
The pickup truck struck many parked cars and trucks on a facet road right before veering across a lawn and into the corner of a home, the police claimed.
The driver, Joshua D. Maldonado, sustained no accidents.
He was charged with driving although intoxicated and other offenses. The charges are only allegations and Maldonado has not been convicted in the situation.
The motorcyclist was hospitalized as a outcome of the first accident. His injuries ended up not considered everyday living-threatening, law enforcement claimed.
Any witnesses to both incident are questioned to simply call Gloucester Township law enforcement at 856-228-4500 or at the nameless tip line at 856-842-5560.
